Downpipe Check Valve

downpipevalve

• Simple Inline Installation
• Float Check Avoids Pressure Drop
• Guards Against Siphoning From Tank

This engineered component will help you prevent siphoning or backflow of liquid through a downpipe installed in tank level gauging applications. With the KING-GAGE® Downpipe Backflow Check Valve, you can guard against liquid traveling up through the downpipe and into the system pressure lines. It utilizes a specially designed float pin that rises up to seal the valve shut when liquid enters from the downpipe through the bottom of the unit. The Model 6563 Downpipe Check Valve is well suited for use on downpipe systems employing KING-GAGE Purge Control or LiquiSeal Purge Control liquid level transmitters.

LiquiSeal Purge Control

dp738

• Continuous Level Measurement
• Simple Proven Sensing Technique
• Suitable for Corrosive or Aggressive Liquids

When purged with compressed air, liquid within the downpipe is displaced by air pressure equal to the hydrostatic force of liquid in the tank. If carefully regulated at a low rate of flow, air pressure will constantly maintain equilibrium against the force of the liquid. Output is proportional to liquid depth and can be transmitted as an electronic 4-20 mA signal or pneumatically as a direct 1:1 pressure signal.

LiquiSeal D/P purge control is a fully integrated air purge regulator and level transmitter. Operation is based on the control regulating a continuous 1 cfh (cubic foot per hour) flow of compressed air into the tank downpipe. An internal differential pressure sensor element converts resulting pressure into a 4-20 mAdc two wire signal.

APPLICATION NOTE: Available in all-pneumatic configurations for hazardous area service.

788 D/P Purge Control is a differential pressure regulator and air flow control. It generates a constant flow of compressed air to purge a downpipe. Its integral differential pressure transmitter provides 4-20 mAdc output proportional to liquid level.

APPLICATION NOTE: Available in all-pneumatic configurations for hazardous area service.

TeleSensor

telesensor

• External Mounting at Tank
• Unaffected by Foam or Vapor
• Electronic (4-20 mA) or Pneumatic Output

KING-GAGE® TeleSensor detects level by sensing hydrostatic pressure created by liquid depth. Acting on the force balance principle, a sensitive diaphragm is exposed to the liquid contents of the tank. Compressed air within the sensor creates a pneumatic pressure that balances the force of the liquid acting against the diaphragm. This diaphragm unit is generally paired with the 868 D/P Sensor Control with integral transmitter. This converts the pneumatic isolation pressure to a proportional 4-20 mAdc signal suitable for process control or remote level indication.

The basic configuration is intended for pipe flange connection mounting (2", 3" or 4" class 150 ANSI) to any typical outlet near the bottom of the tank. TeleSensor units are virtually free from long term drift, hysteresis, and temperature sensitivity unlike strain measurements (including load cells) since mechanical deflection of the diaphragm is not directly measured. Additionally, pressure based measurement is unaffected by liquid foam or vapor layers within the tank.

KING-GAGE TeleSensor units combine accuracy, rugged durability, reduced maintenance, and long term stability for liquid level tank gauging. A compressed air/gas supply is required for operation of the sensor. Entirely pneumatic versions are available for use in hazardous area service eliminating need for additional intrinsic safety provisions.

AcraSensor

• Flush Mount Sanitary Design
• Field Replaceable Sensor Diaphragm
• Hybrid Design Minimizes Temperature Effects

KING-GAGE® AcraSensor unit detects level by sensing pressure due to liquid depth while its pneumatic force balance diaphragm technique is remarkably free from drift or temperature effects. These sensors are especially suited to a wide range of sanitary applications on storage or continuous processing vessels. The standard AcraSensor + 868 D/P Sensor Control combination combines accuracy, rugged durability, reduced maintenance, and long term stability for liquid level tank gauging. Its integral transmitter converts the pneumatic isolation pressure to a proportional 4-20 mAdc signal suitable for process control or remote level indication.

The unique AcraSensor titanium diaphragm satisfies the 3-A Sanitary Standard (74-03) and is appropriate for flush mount, clean-in-place installation. An FDA-approved silicone rubber O-ring seal forms a crevice-free, positive compression seal between the diaphragm probe and mounting shell. Flush weld mountings are available with product contact surfaces of 316L stainless.

Operation requires pneumatic 860 Sensor Control or 868 D/P Sensor Control electronic transmitter and compressed air/gas supply.
