NOSHOK President Christian Cole is back on the track, piloting the McCann Racing #27 Porsche for his debut in the one-make championship Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup North America.
The season takes its first green flag at Sebring International Raceway this week with the Mobile 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring event March 15th-18th.
McCann’s four driver force will compete across all three classes in the championship. Michael McCann Jr. returns for his second year in the series running in the Pro Class. Christian Cole’s #27 entry will compete in the Pro-Am category, while Michael Merritt’s #63 and James McCann’s #83 will compete in the Am Class.
“I’m extremely excited to once again have the opportunity to run with McCann Racing after three years,” Cole stated. “I look forward to building on my success from SRO as the 2019 Rookie of the Year and series runner-up and continuing to perfect my race craft. The 992 GT3 Cup is an amazing racecar that demands confidence in your driving ability and to be paired with the 2019 SRO Crew of the Year, I believe we will have a great showing in the Carrera Cup Series. I am really looking forward to the Long Beach and Miami street circuits because of the utmost focus that it requires to finish and win the race.”
The 2023 schedule is set to be the most dynamic contest to date, with eight events hosting sixteen 40-minute rounds of the all-Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car championship. The team will be paired at events with F1 in Miami and COTA, INDYCAR, IMSA and NASCAR throughout the duration of the season.
